The ant lives in a society, moving through life by interacting with members of it’s subfamily. Ants exist, for the most part, in underground cities that can reach populations in the millions. In most cases these massive societies dominate their respective biosphere and are either an integral part of the ecosystem or an invasive and destructive force against an established ecosystem.

    My painting investigates the wonders of the ant world. Metaphorically I draw connections between ant and human societies. Utilizing the ants I am able to explore the complexities of society, life, and the natural environment.
